JERONIMO
VILLA
Rebellion
In the first month of quarantine, I decided to dismantle all the blinds in my house as a rebellious response to spatial restriction. By leaving the windows free, my house expanded as far as my vision could reach. The blinds were disassembled and intervened with cuts and screws. The pieces that are part of the REBELDIA series are sculptures based on figures and drawings of the ornamentation in grilles, walls, and lattices. The dismembered and transformed object leaves its function in the past and ends up lending its material to a work that reflects on what separates us from one another, between those outside and those inside, between society and the individual.
