Bambulitas

The BAMBULITA project continues the body of work LO QUE NOS SEPARA, which began during the quarantine and reflects on isolation and the human need to restrict and guard one’s space. On low-grade sandpaper, structures are assembled from headless matches that resemble damaged or defective bamboo blinds (“bambulitas”). Each drawing attempts to express the barrier that separates us from one another, yet it ends up being as fragile and broken as a failed blind or a headless match on its executioner.
